Who this is for
Competitive players traveling to Prague for 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, or a custom block.

International juniors building an ITF competition base in Central Europe.
Adult tournament players who want assessment-led focused development outside their home country.
The method
Assessment on day one
90 minutes on court. Stroke mechanics, movement patterns, tactical decision-making, and physical conditioning - before any training volume begins. The findings determine what the rest of the block addresses.
Private coaching, every session
No groups. Every session is Leonard and the player. Session count and daily hours are calibrated to the block length and the player's level - typically two to four hours on court per day, with off-court work alongside.
Tactical pattern work
Serve patterns, return construction, rally shape, and pressure-moment execution. Drills progress from controlled to competitive to match-simulation across the block.
Video analysis
Leonard reviews footage of stroke mechanics and match-play patterns and delivers written notes. For 2-week blocks, a mid-block review is included.
Written development report
Every block closes with a written technical report: the specific gaps identified at assessment, what improved during the block, and the two or three priorities for the player's home coach to continue. This report stands alone - and is the starting point if the player returns.
Sample week structure

FAQ
Is a training block a good way to trial the full program?
Yes. A 1-week or 2-week training block is explicitly designed as the entry point for players and families who want to experience the methodology before committing to a longer engagement. Leonard's written development report at the end of the block serves as a standalone document - and as the basis for a full program if both parties want to continue.
What is included in a training block?
90-minute performance assessment, private on-court coaching, technical correction, tactical pattern training, match-play and sparring (where available), physical development work, Leonard-led video analysis, and a written development report with post-block priorities for the player's home coach.
What surfaces are available?
Clay and hard court are both available. The surface choice is confirmed at booking based on the player's goals, competition schedule, and seasonal availability. Clay is outdoor (typically April-October); indoor hard court is available year-round.
Do I need to be based in Prague?
No. Training blocks are specifically designed for players traveling from outside Prague - and outside the Czech Republic. Prague is accessible by direct flight or train from the UK, Germany, France, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Austria, and most of Central and Eastern Europe.
What is the minimum block length?
Three days is the minimum. A 3-day block covers the assessment plus two full training days and is suitable for a targeted priority (e.g., serve mechanics). A 1-week block is the standard entry point for broader development.
Is accommodation arranged?
Accommodation is arranged separately. The Stakhovsky Tennis team provides hotel and apartment guidance for the Prague area upon application. Prague 1, 2, and 7 are the most convenient neighbourhoods.
